Steven T. Mulligan is Of Counsel to the firm. Mr. Mulligan has over seventeen years of experience in a business law practice, focusing on financial restructuring, insolvency, bankruptcy, mergers and acquisitions, other business transactions, and commercial litigation. Mr. Mulligan has represented numerous creditors and debtors in Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases throughout the United States, and he has been involved in many cases resulting in confirmed plans of reorganization. He also has represented Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustees in proceedings that included auctioning estate assets, prosecuting adversary proceedings involving preference claims, and lien-priority disputes. Additionally, he has defended clients in non-discharge litigation, including a matter that involved $70 million.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Mulligan served as in-house counsel for a privately held, diversified group of international companies. He provide advice on a wide range of legal issues relating to the companies’ diverse operations, which included the high-tech sector, real estate, advertising, natural resources, energy and manufacturing. Additionally, he was responsible for investigating, analyzing and opining on potential acquisition targets, both in the United States and abroad. Mr. Mulligan was a contributing writer for the Bankruptcy Chapter in the Colorado Methods of Practice. As a lecturer, among other work, he participated in the Russian American Chamber of Commerce’s Second Vail Conference in 1994, delivering a speech entitled “Regional Responses to Privatization Initiatives: Packaging Research Corporation’s Experiences.” Mr. Mulligan is a graduate of the University of Denver, College of Law. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Colorado.
